Plenty of stuff on AI ChatCPT about it. Anyone have an experience with such a gun?

I seem to recall reading they had a tendency to burn the clothing and or skin on the arm one used to hold the front wood, but, have no personal experience with that. It wouldn’t seem to be compliant with the migratory bird act.

Good luck shooting a shotgun like this. I just know I’d forget the cylinder and reach up on the forend to swing on a flushing bird. Ouch! I wouldn’t forget a second time though.

Yup, I don't know about leaning my face towards the barrel/cylinder gap, with old school, black powder and who knows what's in the wad and getting the shot into the barrel.

There are modern versions. Russian and Brazilian, maybe others. It seems like they would have the same cylinder gap issue, but people are shooting them on YouTube and not getting burned. Maybe this design works okay when new and tight but goes wrong with wear?

Maybe this design works okay when new and tight but goes wrong with wear? I’m guessing the modern versions are cartridge revolvers, and not percussion guns. The originals had a nasty habit of cooking off multiple rounds, or, the whole cylinder, at once, at the shot. That would be interesting. Best, Ted

Yikes! I get it. No. Did (do) percussion pistols sometime(s) cook off too?
