Thanks
This seems to be the only information I can find on him. He did a number of Winchesters. I was able to pick up a Remington Model 31 trap he did. The work is exceptional.
He worked in a unique style unlike other American engravers.

From the 1980 book American Engravers by Roger Bleile...
Raised in Iowa, Neil worked for an engineering outfit building a base and airfield near Anchorage in WWII. Later he worked at a sporting goods company where he became interested in engraving. Like most American engravers at that time he was self taught. He started full time engraving in 1964. In 1980, Bleile's book gave his home as Fairmont, MN. Neil's son Glen also became an engraver.
