I am 71 years old, and I called Social Security last week because the online system had not yet produced the document I requested. They were too busy so the automated system said I could ask for a callback. When I received that call they asked me for identifying information, my SS number, my address, my mother's maiden name, all I gave, but I was wrong and therefore they couldn't help me, and I would need to go to my local office. At the local office, today, they said they had a (former) P.O. Box for my address instead of the one I have had for the last 50 years. Getting rid of bureaucracy and giving authority back to the states sounds good to me. Why does the federal government need to take tax dollars from a state and then tell that state how to run their schools after siphoning off the money to pay the federal employees?
