Just received 100 primed Cheddite 12ga. 2 1/2" case's. I'm going to load a light 7/8 or 1oz load with fibre filler and over powder card or bpgs gas seal. Should I 6pt.fold crimp or rolled? Any favored loads appreciated.

Any favored loads appreciated. I would use a rolled crimp - simply because I don't think I can adjust my press to do a 2.5" case. More important would be what fiber wads are you using and what powder. I have recipes for 2" hulls and fiber wads using Perfect Pattern, SR7625, and American Select powders. Adapting from those would be pretty easy.

Not all roll crimping tools are created equal. I would avoid the BPI and Precision Reloading "house brand" roll crimps. An old Ideal or Lyman is good and there are newly manufactured roll crimps out of Italy that have a good reputation.

When I reloaded I cut straight wall 16 gauge hulls down from 2 3/4" to 2 1/2 inch and reloaded them on my Sizemaster using the standard MEC plastic die. I got acceptable crimps.
Keep in mind that you'll probably get only 2 to 3 loads from the roll crimped hulls before they are toast. When I roll crimped my 24 gauge hulls 3 reloads was about the most I could get and that 3d load was a pain in the ass to insert the wad because the hull mouth was so messed up.
I would only roll crimp if there was no alternative such as 24 or 32 gauge which have no practical reloaders or 2" 12 gauge where you need all the space in the hull you can get.
