Hey all, today was a good day but sad. My son Will is going back to NY. My sons and I went for a quick hunt this morning. Will was the first to limit, Jim got two (not pictured) and I also limited. Addie did very well, nice points and retrieves. Sure will miss number 1 son. I really cherish hunting with my boys. Every minute with them is a gift from God. Here we are, Jim, me and Will. Man, that looks great. By this time last year I'd shot a bunch. This year, not so much. But...still hot (mid-80s yesterday) and very muggy & buggy. Need a good freeze first to get a good estimate of the numbers here. I've got 4 in the freezer so-far, so at least we can do a game meal when my bride gets here.

Hey all, my youngest kid, Patty and I went out today. Hunted around house here. We saw quite a few, but they're starting to getting wild. The morning was cool, but no wind! Addie was able to scent them, but they didn't hold for crap. I managed to get a single Addie held, and another that fell into the flowers, lost that one. Patty was able to get one out of a group of three. Patty had to leave to get to class. So continued one to another spot No Grouse, but Addie pointed some Huns. Lucky me was able to get a double. Tucker was really wanting to get out this afternoon, good thing too. A quick hunt on one of our favorite spots yielded two flushes, I was a bit slow on the first bird and it hit the canopy before I could get a shot off. Hey all, my son Jim and I went duck hunting today...weather was perfect.....no wind, warm and the sun, bright and high in the sky (right!). Anyway, nothing was flying, did get a couple small flights that came in, got the one drake. Did drop another, but lost him in the cattails. Used my CZ Hammer Classic. Nice duck gun. 30" bbls, weighs in at 7-10, and the bbl regulation is spot on. Nothing fancy, just a good gun for waterfowl. Guess I should have gone grouse hunting!
