Not sure how he'd manage that with a typo but i'd hope it's meant to be 1,495.00
I've always found it interesting that there seems to be a significant culture/market value difference on used gun in the uk vs the us
Argo This makes me think of the gunbroker listing I sent you of the riggs-reilly being advertised as one of Edward's. SN 134789 """""""While the brand name would later be bought and used as a bargain line by Charles Riggs, this shotgun was produced when some of the finest Reilly products were being made. This is a fascinating gun that will display well in any collection and certainly draws the eye. Please see our pictures and good luck in your bidding!"""""""""

Price: $14,195.00 for SN 35543 Different gun, SN 134789: https://www.gunbroker.com/item/1065465725The above advertisement about SN 134789 being part of the "classic Reilly build era" is an out and out lie. It's a Riggs-Reilly. And he used this Reilly history for the most part and still lied.

A lie it certainly is! I'm aware it's not a typo but id really hope they've listed it at 14,195 by mistake. Yikes!!!

Then again, it could be like Ebay where that is only the asking price. Let us know if/when it sells for that much.

Very true Jimmy. I doubt it will sell for the asking price. At least I hope it doesn't. Perhaps it's the mediocre strategy of listing way above your sell price so the buyer can "talk you down"?
What do you propose this boxlock is worth Argo? 1k-3k?

What do you propose this boxlock is worth Argo? 1k-3k? The auction house had it about right. That crummy stock extension is a deal breaker for many. Best, Ted

It was originally proved 1904-1925 (there is no 2 1/2" chamber length mark) with a bore 13/1 = .719" - .728" It was London reproved (Crowned R next to the 850 BAR) 2001 now with bore 18.7 mm = .736" For $14,000 one might expect wall thickness numbers ![[Linked Image from photos.smugmug.com]](https://photos.smugmug.com/Proof-Marks/i-PNsCDxt/0/LxLvkM3V4MNmxqGnJ4fv6sNB6gzn3jXZpTFVnTjf3/L/e-m-reilly-shotgun-12-ga_102830510_20291_B2DD4D4BBD209108-L.jpg) Gene posted some Riggs catalog pages here https://www.doublegunshop.com/forum...p;Board=1&main=43449&type=thread
