Hey all, my son Will and I went out to a different area today. Hunted a couple places. I was able to limit and Will got one also. Pretty windy today, birds were spooky no groups today. Just singles and pairs. Addie did well today, very happy with her. I used my 16ga FN Stay well my friends Greg ![[Linked Image from i.postimg.cc]](https://i.postimg.cc/NfRNFPyW/20240919-140353.jpg) ![[Linked Image from i.postimg.cc]](https://i.postimg.cc/SNwhFPB3/image0-1.jpg)

I coexist with snakes. They have their place and I my own. If they bother me or my family I adjust their place. Few things will increase your heart rate like flipping over a John boat and find a snake or snakes under it or in the bottoms between the seat and bottom of the boat. Been there and done that. Something like sweet J came out of my mouth. But they went their way and I went duck hunting so all was good. I did keep an eye out for a straggler. None came out.
It is so nice to see that young fellow looking at all those birds. I hope grandpa gets many hunts with him. Some of my earliest hunting memories are with my grandfathers. Both men made time to take me with them. I still fondly recall the smell of one of their pipe smoke and the other always brought a small bag of peanuts for me to shell and eat as he talked with me. Being five or six being the center of attention with him was gold. And I still love the smell of pipe smoke, coffee and peanuts.

My two son's have turned out to be fine young men. Never in trouble and hard working. They know right fron wrong and are responsible members of society. I know Will is going to raise my Grandson right. BWT, I'm a pipe smoker! Best Regards Greg

I am really saving ammo this dove season. Opening day I fired one round. Yesterday I was invited to a big plantation dove shoot over sunflowers. We drew numbered poker chips out of a bucket to determine stands. My number was 29. I had a bad feeling about that while driving to the field, picturing how the lanes each have 10 stands, in my mind. My fears were confirmed when I was dropped off at the far end of the 60-70 acre field. Two of the guys behind me never fired a shot. I shot twice, in three hours. The center part of the field shot continuously all afternoon. Must've been two thousand rounds fired. I can laugh about it this morning, but it sucked yesterday. Some days you get the bear, and some days the bear gets you. Looking onward and upward to better days.
May God bless America and those who defend her.
