I was thinking Mr. Trump was pretty safe at the yardages that were indicated with either design of rifle. Although, I had an SKS that was left to me by a guy who was eventually convicted of a felony, that had superior accuracy compared to a Ruger ranch rifle in the identical 7.62 X 39 caliber.

But, neither gun would be ideal for over 200 yards.

Perhaps it isn't the political threads or other off topic threads driving people away, but that most threads turn into a pissing contest with posters acting like spoiled little children.

Don't like someone, put them on ignore.

I have become addicted to English hammered shotguns to the detriment of my wallet.

Why do these types so often have crappy rifles? SKS, Carcano? They plot this all out and can't be bothered to get a dang Winchester? It says something about them, but I don't know what.

I don't know that the reason for failure to succeed can be blamed on the type firearms that have been used. I think it has more to do with the individual behind the trigger. Consider that the SKS, the AK47 and the M16 all have somewhat similar accuracy capabilities out of the box. The Marine recruits at Parris Island train on M16A4s, and i'm willing to bet they're not accurized for recruit use. In the past 4 years two recruits, Pfc. Francis Flannery and Pfc. Austin Ferrell , have shot 249 scores, only one shot away from perfect 250s, with those rifles. In that testing they shoot out to 500 yards with them, and connect with the target, with only basic recruit training in marksmanship. It doesn't take sub-minute accuracy to hit a man at 250-300 yards. But, it does take a cool nerve and good training. Obviously, neither of Trump's would be assassins had that, thank God.

May God bless America and those who defend her.

Typicaldem, knee jerk class warfare with disparaging comment about financial, and predictably, educational level. Probably revises history in his mind, fantacizing about Rambo fending off protesters at an abortion clinic, and he steels nine hundred bucks worth oftampons as the credits roll, because they're making the movie inkali.
