I uncased a SXS at my son’s final shoot for high school trap league. A younger crowd, predominantly, to be expected, people who have school aged kids and, their kids, having a great time and a great meal at the home club.
Nobody commented on my old gun. Nobody. Might have been several hundred in attendance, and at my local club, usually somebody pipes up. But, everybody is older at that venue.
I’m OK with it, if a bit sad. Mostly black or camo autoloaders in the hands of the kids, it is what it is.
My kid has never asked to shoot a double, save his grandpa’s O/U, and after a round he decided he preferred his pump gun.
If somebody here pipes up about politics, let it go. We are few enough in number, somewhat prone to being luddites with our old guns, and set in our ways. There is more than enough censorship of late, in areas that have deeper ramifications than an old guys hobby double gun board.
