Joe Wood do you have a comment to the above? Let's see how you handle it.

Let me get back on the subject. You are right about the school shooting problems, ed. We recently had a local law enforcement officer come to a church group to discuss school protection at the local school. I made the comment in front of the group (which I always make) that there are only three things you need to do to stop school shootings. (1) You have a metal detector that all students have to walk through. (2) No metal objects are allowed in school of any kind. No car keys. No (money) change. No metal book binders or pens. If a student drives to school, their car keys get locked up in a locker/cabinet- controlled by the principal BEFORE they go through the metal detector............ No money? When I was in school, we had a lunch ticket that we carried with us that we bought at the first of the week. When you go through the lunch line every day one of the five numbers get a hole punched through it. No need for money in school. If you have to buy a yearbook or make a purchase, bring your parent's credit card............(3) Once the school starts, the doors are locked down and no doors are excess able. No one comes or goes in and out the doors. Deliveries are monitored by the principal or the school security. When I was in school, we had hall monitors who sat in the hallways doing their homework or reading. They were to monitor people who were in the hallways during class period and took down their names. Place them by the doors and they have a key to open the doors in case of a fire. No student goes to their cars. No teachers block the doors open with a rock to bring things in, like what happened at the one school shooting. Those three things will cut down if not eliminate school shootings. The length of prosecuting someone like in the video? Well, the law is the law.

When you were in school, you used to walk barefoot all the way to the garage, and put your shoes on in the back of the old Dodge station wagon. In camathe toes America, demcontrolled inner city youts come from two thirds single parent homes, a third live below the poverty line, and at least a third of the the kids are associated with gangs. Look up pictures of inner city eighth grade graduations, kids openly brandish Glocks as a status symbol. Good luck to your hall monitors, and credit cards from caring parents. You're a loyaldem, I'll give you that. What's your standard line, hi i'm jimmi from mayberry, and i'll give you a carton of cigs if you do this motor voter registration scam.

Not much has changed in most schools in the country. They still get on the bus right here- on the same street at the same place, where I got on the bus as a kid. And my child did. They still have classes and after school activities at about the same time I did. The schools are still full of students, daily, obviously. They do use the internet more. But basically not much has changed. At least not around here. And obviously, every time you see a school shooting, the school is full of kids. So, not much has changed over the years. And a lot of the time when you see a school shooting, you can see an obvious situation that should have never happened and was the cause of the children being exposed to a perpetrator. A door was blocked open with a rock by a teacher. A lock was faulty that the principal knew about but didn't have repaired, etc. You have to nip problems in the bud, as Barney Fife used to say.

Oh, but something has changed at most schools.

I’d call it the elephant in the room.

Ted

Lots of talk in some places about arming teachers. The last place I taught high school, several of us had CC.

With all that goes along with the CC, this is a good thing. But, teachers plant the seeds of moral decay. We see them here, occasionally above the fray, but so often revealing the content of their character, and spelling out their social agendas. I believe no teacher should be compelled to carry, but those who vehemently decline might win themselves a place on awatchlist, lol.
