So I don't see where there could be any debate on if they are protected by the 2nd Amendment.

Can you be 'the people' in regards to one constitutionally recognized right and not for another?

Selective enforcement and creative interpretation are forced on 'the people' routinely, particularly by localAGs and appointed law enforcement/prosecution. So, absolutely yes. So, the Constitutionalists will fall your way, have you read dessenting opinions of creative interpreters. Have you noticed how the big dawgag serves their masters and their emotions, and not the Constitution, the same one that nearly got a lifetime appointment to that other branch ofgov..
