Just got back from best pheasant hunt of life in SD. Birds everywhere. While there bought an Ithaca NID with two barrels but you have to push the lever to the right to close it. The guy I bought it from thougt it was missing a spring. Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks David

It's either missing the spring or the trip or both.. It's an easy fix.. MDC

I agree with MD Christian. Maybe just dirty. The spring and trip can be accessed by removing the trigger plate. Watch for the little spring. Perhaps a former owner took the trigger plate off and lost it already??

I had one do the same and there was just so much dried oil & gunk in there it prevented the trip from operating. Might just be a good cleaning is all it needs.

Gentlemen,
Thanks so much, I looked and the spring is in fact missing. I appreciate your knowledge and time.
