I was digging through some old posts looking for something else and came across this post from 2011. I had totally forgot about posting this, but I do have an update on the stockmaker. It was not Monty Kennedy as the cheekpiece had led me to believe, but rather it was stocked just a bit south and east of him in Sheridan Wyoming by Lenard Brownell. This was discovered quite by accident as I was thumbing through the NRA gunsmithing guide, which is a collection of articles from the American Rifleman, and wouldn't you know it, here is this exact rifle, in am article on stocking a rifle written by Lenard Brownell. Brownell was one of the greats and I am happy to have this example of his work.
