dblfever,
After 1923 the records have a pretty complete description of the guns in inventory, although there are exceptions. Yours (81857)is listed as a grade CC in early books which became a model 30 by the 1920's. It was placed in inventory in 1924.
I began this project 2 years ago while employed by Griffin & Howe, a paid advertiser on this site. Although my intentions were good I simply did not have enough time back then to respond to the many inquiries that were made. I retired last May and G&H has very generously allowed me to pick up with the records where I left off. Hopefully we will soon have a mechanism set up for owners to request letters and photos of the records of their guns. I don't wish to hijack this thread but I want Francotte owners to know that information is, or soon will be, available.
