I well remember, as a young man in the early 70's, reading Field & Stream, Outdoor Life, and Sports Afield, and seeing those ads by Garcia for Beretta shotguns and Sako rifles. I knew every model's specs.
In particular, I remember the pictures of the now very rare SO-7 sidelock side by side. Have never, ever seen a single one for sale since.

I dug this old thread up doing homework on Beretta SO guns. John Roberts mentioned here the SO7 SxS. I have read that the SO7 sidelock SxS gun is also designated as the 451. I found this reference on the web but I can’t find my link to the reference. I have a 451 EELL from 1974 and is a lite pigeon gun weighing 7 lbs 4oz. It’s a fast handling, well balanced gun with tight chokes and 28” barrels. I’ve used it on clays, doves and helice. It made me a believer in the effectiveness of shorter barrels for clay targets.
