To be honest with you ed, I really liked Marks 21's gun. I like a lot of engraving and gold. As I just showed a few months ago, I had Pauline Muerrle engrave a Model 21 for me. Love it!! But, like everyone says- "To each his own". My question would be..........does one like the manufacturer's standard engraving patterns or an outsiders engraving?

Count me in as having been interested. But I understand your frustration.

How long someone has been a member here means nothing to me ..............zero, zip ......... me included. What is important is what they bring to the mix ......... knowledge, interesting observations, pertinent personal experiences, etc. But, since you mentioned it, out of curiosity I looked at the Members List. You've got me by one day ............. old timer. That and $1.50 will buy you a cup of coffee at the convenience store.

Calling my friend Bill a liar is not casual stuff. There's a big difference in being mistaken about something and being dishonest about it. A lie is a mistruth told intentionally. You owe Bill an apology, plain and simple. But, I imagine I'll see frogs with fur before that occurs. My old friend RWTF suffered a massive stroke which led to his passing, just for anyone's information. I spoke with his wife Mae after he "disappeared" from the forums. I miss him. He was different, and sometimes rubbed people the wrong way, but he was genuine and he was always very much a gentleman. He never called anybody on here a liar, that's for sure.

The Lefever Marks21 posted is gorgeous, in my eyes. I'm sorry the thread degenerated, but it takes nothing away from the gun. I'm glad he posted the pic, and i wish him well.

May God bless America and those who defend her.

Stan,
The dates you see for membership are for the current iteration of the BBS. The board changed and we all had to re-register when it became the board it is today.

Some of us have been here far longer than it would appear. Agree, no bragging rights to be found in that fact.

Best,
Ted

And I apologize, Larry. When you said that you had never seen an Ithaca with sideplates, I wanted to get in the car and drive 20 miles and take pictures of 16 gauge Ithaca I saw that was similar to the one Marks 21 showed and see if it had any value and if it actually was similar to Marks 21s. So, I probably should have kept my mouth shut. Take care.
