Yesterday Ivisited a relatively new veterans' cemetery just a few miles from where I live. Quite a few Vietnam vets. Also some from Iraq and Afghanistan. Very nice setting in Wisconsin's North Woods.
Watched some of "Band of Brothers" when I returned home. For as long as I watched it, I didn't see a single BAR. From my early days in National Guard infantry, every squad had a BAR. Saw just about every other standard infantry weapon. Made me wonder why no BARs. The bazooka had been replaced by the 3.5" Rocket Launcher by the time I fired one of those. Much larger tube.
