I've got some exciting news to share. I’ve just launched an online museum dedicated to the groundbreaking work of Casimir Lefaucheux and his remarkable contributions to shotgun technology.

The Lefaucheux Museum is a digital archive where you can:

Explore Revolutionary Shotgun Design: Dive into Casimir's revolutionary breech-loading systems that reshaped shotgun technology in the 19th century.
Discover the Pinfire Cartridge System: Learn how Casimir’s inventive pinfire system transformed shotgun design by integrating the primer into the cartridge, making loading faster and safer.
Access Archival Treasures: Immerse yourself in patents, period photographs, and designs that highlight Casimir’s meticulous craftsmanship and legacy.

Check out lefaucheux.com to explore this new resource and support our mission to preserve and celebrate the Lefaucheux heritage that revolutionized firearms as we know them.

Aaron, thanks. It's great to put the history of the breech loader into such clear form. I always wondered why the pinfire concept was thought of and came into existence rather than something more closely related to the Pauly concept. I guess that the availability of percussion caps sort of drove the pinfire design.

Aaron, I visited your Digital Lefaucheux Museum, and was pleased to find a lot of very good information there. It should be a great resource for those who are interested in the evolution and transition from muzzleloaders to cartridge firing firearms.

I bookmarked the link, but would suggest that you post another Thread with the link to your Museum in the DoubleGun FAQ Forum to make it easier for others to find in the future.
