I had explained the reason I started using 12 ga. 3/4 oz. loads in a different post. I shoot only sxs and only L.C. Smith either hammer and hammerless but now mostly hammer. These guns are all over 110-130 years old, most with Damascus barrels and the load I use most is Remington Gun Club, 15 grs. Titewad, Cheddite 209 primer, Claybuster CB0175-12 wad, 1150 fps and 7200 psi. This is right from the Hodgdon site. A friend who works at a gun club gave me a 30 gallon black plastic bag three quarters full about 8 years ago and I have reloaded a 100 of these hulls at least 8 times or more and they still look good. They are on par if not better than the old AA Winchester compression formed hulls, and I think the Gun Clubs are better than anything out there for reloading.
