In this part of the world, for me, my hunting staples tend to be rabbits and hares. Sometimes stubble quail (coturnix pectoralis) and ducks when in season, but drought has prevented duck seasons here for a couple of years. RG

Now days mostly ducks and geese. Try to go home to Upstate New York at least twice during the season. Here in Virginia I hunt ducks over decoys at various small beaver ponds that I find.
Wife and I like to hunt (shoot) pheasants at a local preserve. I also hunt partridge and woodcock here when I can find them.
I pretty much gave up deer hunting. If the weather is right, I might go out with my flintlock smoothbore, but not like I used to. Guess I have reached that point where I could care less if I shoot another deer.
Kind regards,

85% quail in the Panhandle of Texas 10% dove in the Panhandle 5% pheasant in the Panhandle and South Western Kansas
I went to Argentina the last two summers and killed thousands of dove. I didn't count those in these percentages - seven days total.
All wild birds.
I am blessed at this time in my life with both access, time to go, money to go, and good hunting. I hunt quail about 50 days a year, dove 6 or 7 days, and pheasant a 2 or 3 days.
Not near enough but I intend to do better.
Best,
Mike
I am glad to be here.

Amarillo Mike,
Is the Big Tex still serving big T Bones and calf fries? I haven't been in 25 years.

Woodcock, grouse, ducks and bunnies. Know that bunnies don't have feathers, but being in ones Golden years I find that my reflexs have slowed a bit. Sometimes they just seem to crawl in fact.

Turkeys and grouse locally, wild pheasants, chukar, quail and huns due south about 100 miles, and SD pheasants.
Hard to tag a % on a particular species, since I can be shooting pheasants, quail, huns and to a lesser degree chukars at any given time where I hunt.

Dove Quail/Chukar/Huns/Pheasant/Grouse usually in that order too. Though I've been focusing on chukar alot in the last 2 years. I want to do as much as possible before age takes it's toll with the chukars. They are a young (or at least fit) man's sport.
