I have to admit that I find the smoke blowing Beretta hard to believe for a number of reasons. But that might just be me.

It would be very difficult to wear out a Beretta beyond rebuildable IMO. But then anything is possible if there's a dedicated effort.

Another thing to consider, after you have fired the over/under barrels and you want to put the single trap barrel on the gun, how is the gun going to reset BY INERTIA, if you haven't even fired the gun? It won't. And it won't fire at all, until you remove the set screw from the selector switch, move the selector switch into the correct position to fire the top barrel FIRST and then lock it in that position by replacing the set screw, You don't want to leave the set screw out, because you could bump the switch when you fire the gun and push it to the wrong side. You want to make sure you put the set screw back in the gun and LOCK it in that position. Have a nice day. .
