In other words, if your selector switch is only showing one red dot, and you want to shoot the gun with only the single barrel, you have to remove the screw on the sector switch on the gun, and move the selector switch so that two red dots are showing, because it is locked in the wrong position. Other wise, you are trying to shoot the bottom barrel first, and since there is no barrel there, THE GUN WON'T FIRE. At least twice since I have had the gun, I went to shoot a round of trap and I had to stop , get a small screw driver, remove the selector screw and move the lever over because the gun wouldn't fire. I had previously been shooting both barrels and forgot to switch the lever back over. So, to me, if the gun selector switch is in the wrong position, it is locked out or whatever you want to call. it. So you are correct- if the switch is locked and screwed down in the wrong position, no inertia. Ha-ha!! Good luck..
