If I shoot doubles with my 686 Silver Pigeon, and have the selector switch set so that the bottom barrel shoots first- then I take the over/under barrels off and put the single barrel on the gun to shoot trap, if I don't take a screw driver, remove the screw and switch the selector lever over to shoot the top barrel first, the gun won't fire. I've had it happen before................... If you look at the 2006 Ohio State Trap Shooting Hall Of Fame you'll see a Richard "Pat" Neff. He used to shoot a 682 Beretta. He shot at my club and was/is on the board of directors. I watched him shoot one time, years ago in the winter. He had that gun so worn out, it ended up, when he shot it , a huge puff of smoke would blow out the breech every time he fired the gun- it was so off face. So yeah, you can wear those Beretta trap guns out if you shoot them enough.
