LRF,
Thank you for reply.
I buy a fair number of these rifles hoping for the war time production. So far I have found three. This 6.5 being the fourth and first not in 8x57.

Finally a chance to get back to this.

I believe the marks show this as the 36th rifle proofed in March of 1942. Is this correct?

What might the 2000 under the makers name refer to?

Additional information that made this one different from the other war time rifles I have owned.
The action is a large ring and likely a scrubbed 98k, but the bottom metal, trigger and possibly the bolt are from a WWI Kar98 rifle.
Every other I have bought/sold were all made on WWII 98k parts, including the barrels.

Max Moeller was a barrel maker, maybe the 2000 a serial number.

Der Ami,

Thank you for the information. I will do some Googling, but do you have a source of the information on Moller?

Mike,
I don't remember for sure. I have a drilling with a MM barrel and ran across the info when I was researching it. It may have come from German Hunting Guns or Axel, the technical advisor for the GGCA.
