I probably should have got around to this before but better late than never. In 2015, a friend and fellow vintage enthusiast proposed we get together with some like minded individuals and make a day of it. After a little discussion, what we had in mind was not a competitive shoot nor was it a gun show, where the emphasis is on money changing hands. We modeled it after the "show and shine" casual car meets that happen all summer across the US and Canada. Just a place to show off your guns, see other guns, meet some interesting people. It's held on the grounds of a gun club and we always have a skeet field reserved for our use so we can try out different guns. The club also has trap, 5 stand and a SC course and some of the guys did the SC at the end of the day this year. It's all pretty casual and that the way we want it.

We kinda felt too much of our vintage double life was on line. So that's what we've been doing every year since. Although we were forced to take a couple years off for Covid reasons. In Canada, the gun clubs were shut down.

Anyway, we had our 7th annual meet last Saturday, June 10th and it was clearly our best yet. Not large, by any means, but a real interesting cross section of guns on display and of course, some great people. Each year we have a vote for the "Gun of the Year". The criteria is simply....what gun did you find most interesting? This year it was won by an incredible WW Greener 4 bore double, originally shipped to India. We also had our first American attendee....flew up from Houston.

Here's a few pics from this year's event:

It was a fantastic time ,seeing old friends and meeting new ones and it gets better every year !...it's a real privilege to see the childhood of an event that I hope reaches a ripe old age .

Looks like I might be old enough to have been a part of that. Too bad it is so far away from AZ! Gil

I get a headache just looking at that four. Gun bearers were really a thing, no?

Glad you guys had a good time.

Best,
Ted

We weighed it. 17 1/2 pounds empty! I felt like it would take a charging tiger to convince me to pull the triggers. Lol.

A wonderful time was had by all, a very worthy event. As usual, I brought along a random selection of pin-fires.

Looks like a good time was had by all. How difficult is it to bring a gun into to Canada for such as event?

Looks as you had a fine turnout. Top notch!

Looks like it was a great day. What qualifies as "Upper Canada"? North of Whitehorse?
