Eastern Insurance Or Gun and Trophy Insurance. I hope I have not seen this before or asked this question in the past. I know some of you probably have insurance with one of these companies. Like all insurance companies, the agents and company are your best friends and tell you how great they are. The proof is when you file a claim. I am looking into both companies and wondering if anybody has had to file a claim and how did it go.

If you did and had a good experience I would like to know. Are you still pals?

Thanks so much!

John

That reminds me I need to renew my policy. I have contributed to Eastern Insurance for maybe 10-12 years. I would be interested to hear about other insurance brokers that handle firearm policies.

I wasted my time trying to insure my guns. I spent $5.00 per gun to have my guns appraised about 20 years ago and when I was done, my insurance company wanted me to go back and get the dates of manufacture on every gun. They just wanted an excuse not to insure them. After I got to thinking about it, why broadcast about the guns you own? It just makes it easy for the law to find them if they ever come looking for them.

No. I’ve never had a claim thank goodness but the Cushmans always return calls/emails. Easy to deal with and they are shooters. Mostly trap

I know of one claim by a friend. It went smoothly and quickly. Gun was worth $8,000 at the time. K80 cost more now. He was able to get it done without any run around. I would set you up with him but Covid took him away from us. But he did speak highly of Gun and Trophy. I do have Gun and Trophy, had it before his loss. I also hope I never need it as everyone here would.

Talked to Eastern Insurance. Was very surprised that if you send a gun to a gunsmith to get repaired and something happens while it is at the gunsmiths, ie: fire, thief, loss,, death, etc. Its not covered. They said that would have to be covered by the gunsmiths policy. They will not pay. I looked and checked and sure enough the same with core vens.

I know two good gunsmiths and they do not have it because of the cost. No what I wanted to hear from an insurance company. SOL.

John, what is a cor vens? OK, Eastern is out because you have to jump through a hoop to figure out when your gun is NOT covered. I mean NOT COVERED. Give me a break. Gun and Trophy rates sound good but who has had experience with a loss payment with them?
