The big thing to remember with the C&R license, is that it is not an FFL.

Funny mine says Federal Firearms License (03)on it.I think you meant its not a "dealers" Federal Firearms License (01).Its is an FFL but not the same as the dealer,pawnshop,manufacture ones.They are all FFL's thou.
As to how long it takes for a new FFL it varies,but I wouldn't look for it for at least 90 days.
They have been very nice and professional to me everytime I have called as well.Of course things may change if we have a "madam president" in the future
