You can shoot hogs in Hawaii with a double rifle anytime you want. 9.3x72 Chapuis making short work of them. I know nearly anything can be overcome, but I’d long and hard about taking any firearm into that state, not to mention one that you like in an interesting cartridge.

Good catch Mike! 74 not 72! A great moose round. My friend Patrick owned the rifle, we were just out on the mountainsides.
The hogs were always down in the ravines, the quail and francolin up higher, and the chukar even further up.
You can even shoot feral cattle if you find one.
Hog hunting in the Hawaiian islands is kind of a where there’s a will there’s a way.
You can buy all inclusive hotel packages for your lodging and meals, and hire a guide to pick you up at the hotel and take you out into the jungle to shoot whatever you want.
It’s really quite easy, and not particularly expensive.
And, because it gets hot by mid day, you can enjoy a tropical vacation with the Mrs. while you also go hunting every morning with a guide. All in the US of A.
Out there doing it best I can.

i suppose the thread has run its course. Shall we now venture into things we wish we hadn't done? Naw, leave that one alone... Gil I like the idea of a thread about things we did and only later realized how great it was that we did that while we had the chance.

Never thought of pig hunting in Hawaii, though I think my father hunted pheasants on the Parker Ranch there once. A neat idea to be sure, work actually takes me there every other year. More likely I do it in KY or TX.
