For the steel portion, just not much intrinsic value there less some historical but that wood is just Fantastic.

Interesting gun. We can tell more about what it isn't than what it is. It has never been a pinfire, converted. As to loaded indicators, there is no way the part in question touches a cartridge head as the Part mates up with the barrel only. The only thing left is the part is some cover for a firing pin retainer. But, that's lots of work to hide a screw that could have been easily placed within hidden areas of the action.

I have starred @ these tabs for some time & have come to the realization that the original intent may have been to press them out with your thumb?? But over time, of course they became rigid & someone with a crowbar has removed them.

Sad they could have used a wooden dowel to hammer them out with those turned up tabs. What a heathen.

A retainer for the plungers so they can be easily removed for cleaning?
