Remingtons, my favorite SxS. I now own an 1873 and an 1889. I've had 1894's and 1900's but like the hammerguns more. Also have three Parker hammerguns. At one time I've owned Lefever, Ithaca, L.C. Smith, but don't think any of them are any better than the Remington. About the big drop in the stock- that's the way a shotgun should be- just learn to shoot with your head up [ the way you normally hold it for everyday activities ] , not down and forward like a turtle. That way you won't be saying when missing a shot " damn, I lifted my head". Try it, you'll like it- trust me. Paul
