Most Cogies Mausers I have seen in this country were pretty plain, but have sttep price tags on them due to the Owner thinking anything British is quality. I typically see .375 and .404 Cogiie Mausers though. Their asking price usually starts ~$4000-4500, and stay on the shelf for a few years when so priced. What thier final "getting" price vs. their "asking" price is, I have no idea.

As the saying goes, judge each gun on its own merits. Without seeing the rifle in question, we can not give you a good price. Just as a SWAG, I woudl say asking price would be anywhere from $3k-4k. How long it site on the shelf depends on how willing the owner is to deal.

BTW-for the money I see on Cogie tags, you can usually buy a lot more gun made from someone else.

Oh, one more thing. I have noticed that many, if not most, C&H rifles have very light colored stocks. I wonder whay that is? Anyone have any ideas?

Lowell, Did you see it in a magazine or did you simply see it at WR? 318 WR ammo isn't sold at Walmart, did you remortgage your Corolla to send for ammo, or did you just so happen to throw in the 318 dies with the sale as well...let's see those dies ...how about showing a partial box of bullets or ammo that remains...surely there is some remaining shred of evidence that you really owned a Cogswell and Harrison...(not a "Coggie" you MO)

It's simple Lowell, all you have to do is agree to leave me alone or agree to a truce, and I will follow suit...T R U C E

Thankyou for any POSITIVE comments made as to my query. This particular rifle is indeed a military conversion, the stock may not be walnut as I previously stated, it did seem very light coloured-perhaps sycamore. The asking price suprised me a bit it was less than $500.00 Can. I was on my way to a moose hunt so did not take the time to purchase-if it's still there I think I'll add it to my collection. --- John Can.
