Well, now that I have a proper platform to view, it appears that the two are the same Modell?? ![[Linked Image from thumbs2.imgbox.com]](https://thumbs2.imgbox.com/66/f6/L4ZPZfcY_t.jpg) Adornment was typical of the time. Not Crème de la Crème, but typical. Remember times were similar today like in Argentina now, it took a wheelbarrow of paper to purchase a loaf of bread. ![[Linked Image from thumbs2.imgbox.com]](https://thumbs2.imgbox.com/de/14/0pdKvNxa_t.jpg) Again, typical of the period and was what was desired. ![[Linked Image from thumbs2.imgbox.com]](https://thumbs2.imgbox.com/d9/56/3dTyllal_t.jpg) ![[Linked Image from thumbs2.imgbox.com]](https://thumbs2.imgbox.com/0e/7c/6VGBzgTz_t.jpg) ![[Linked Image from thumbs2.imgbox.com]](https://thumbs2.imgbox.com/7c/99/nWJib53C_t.jpg) Stocked in the typical German Krieghoff style. ![[Linked Image from thumbs2.imgbox.com]](https://thumbs2.imgbox.com/41/b1/ougyS2qT_t.jpg) I'll work on this image to gain the full monte of marks. ![[Linked Image from thumbs2.imgbox.com]](https://thumbs2.imgbox.com/36/b8/SZwlnPZr_t.jpg) Subject longarm with Anson Pushrod Forend fastener. ![[Linked Image from thumbs2.imgbox.com]](https://thumbs2.imgbox.com/87/74/BRnRnGP7_t.jpg) Subject longarm with Anson Pushrod Forend fastener. ![[Linked Image from thumbs2.imgbox.com]](https://thumbs2.imgbox.com/66/f6/L4ZPZfcY_t.jpg) Looks like the same turnscrew was used on both?? Raimey; Thank you for your excellent response. I knew there must be a interesting account somewhere. It is interesting to learn that this model was called the Monaco, where several gun manufactures produced guns by the model name, of Monte Carlo and that there were at least two quality grades of the S&K Monaco. I searched the web and found a old website that had a higher quality grade Monaco listed with photos: https://www.gun-vault1.com/sempert--krieghoff-9570If you scroll down on this site to the first photo of the Monaco II and pause the site will display a number of photos of this gun. Do you have any information if S&K produced SLE's to compete with the London best guns? Regards; Stephen

I would say negative, no they did not. These elaborate, ostentatious offerings were made for ONE thing & ONE thing only: to draw attention and to make money, with the two going hand in hand. I would say you would need to go East to the Bohemians to find a suitable or superior Taubenflinte / Pichón offering. ![[Linked Image from thumbs2.imgbox.com]](https://thumbs2.imgbox.com/bf/aa/GAJUANwj_t.png) The rear of the Toplever looks elevated? Considering similar offerings from the Little British Isles, I would say the only comparison would be the H&H lock platform that was utilized.

The „Tiflis” Basic Modell was 380RM whilst the „Monaco” was more expensive with a price starting at 720 RM.
- Ejectors (90 RM additional) - Barrels made of Böhler Antinit steel (95 RM additional). -Gold washing the locks was an additional charge of 30RM. This may have been included in the „Monaco” price???

Wolfgang reminds me of my Geography in that Monte Carlo is the capital of Monaco. And since the well adept Taube mechanics @ Simson had a Modell >>Monte Carlo<<, Sempert & Krieghoff opted to hang the name of >>Monaco<< as their Modell.
