I can't find the 1949 Cliff Green postcard right this second, but I think it was a card sent by the guys on his regular skeet squad teasing him about staying home while the rest of them were in Dallas having a good time. I think squadmate Doc Metcalf had run 100 in the 20 gauge and some other squad member also had a 100 in some event. Maryland shooters were well represented in Dallas in 1949 but Cliff and another squadmate, All-American Joe George, did not attend. Doc Metcalf set a new Senior World Record in 12 gauge with a 247X250 but was defeated in the shootoff by South Carolina senior Rufe Watson. Watson was a Maryland transplant who was a terror in registered shoots at my gun club, National Capital, during his years in the D.C. area.
