Chaddick is a gun dealer. No more, no less. I have a friend in the business who has owned a shop specializing in Colt SAA's, target rifles and Class III stuff for many, many years. He is an incredible resource of knowledge on these items. Still he never sets himself up as anything more than a businessman/firearms dealer.
Now a funny story about Chaddick or one of his employees.
I don't know Parkers so excuse me if I describe the gun incorrectly.
A friend heard of a $750 Grade Parker hammergun for sale a Chaddicks. From the description it was in beautiful shape and even with the 3 1/2" of DAH, he thought he would take a chance on it. He could always have it restocked. So he negotiates a price low enough to allow such work if needed.
Gun arrives. In better condition than description. In fact it is just about perfect (I have seen it. Wow!) As to the DAH and DAC, well the dimensions are nearly perfect for him. More like 2" DAH.
How could such a mistake be made?
Well if you sit the gun upside down on a flat surface with the hammers in the down position....... Well the gun rests on the hammers and muzzles and measures nicely at 3 1/2" DAH. How any dealer could understand DAH and yet make such a foolish mistake?
From my understanding, that hammergun has killed quite a few doves, quail and has even seen the inside of a flyers ring at a SxS competion.
