I purchased a AH Fox that someone had removed the old stock without pulling the sears. To do that they used a hammer on the balls of the action. To "restore" it I filed the dents out, buffed the area, recut the single line of engraving and then used touch up blue and brown to age it. AH, the beauty of well aged patina.
