John Harper was a very highly thought of out worker in Birmingham and his career spanned from early in the twentieth century into the 1950’s. I believe at one time he was elected Guardian of the Birmingham proof house. He turned out a lot of guns for various “makers”, including quite a number for Churchill. It is fairly rare to encounter his name on a gun though they do turn up occasionally. Years ago I found a wonderful Harper in Las Vegas and the late Jack Rowe was also in town and I asked him about John Harper. Never forgot Jack’s response, “I knew Harper quite well and he turned out good work!” That was endorsement enough for me and I bought the gun. Never regretted it.

John McCain is my war hero.
