Mr. Hallquist, thanks a lot for the information. So the steel of the barrel is Vindex. I'll look about this brand. I´ve never hear it.

Campero, I too was in the dark w/ the steel name >>Vindex<<. The only thing I could find right off was the HMS Vindex..... But I will keep it on my list...

Dear Raimey,
I read that HMS Vindex was a Nairana-class escort carrier of the Royal Navy that saw service during the Second World War... I had never heard that barrels shotgun were made of that steel. Here in Spain we say: never go to bed without knowing something new!
If you know the characteristics of Vintex steel, please let us know.

By the way, the shotgun has no NITRO PROOF mark. I have shooting well with current shells with no problem. Do you thing the gun was made only for black powder?
