I have three Francotte VL&D shotguns I would like to know manufacture dates.

Second question: One gun's right barrel is stamped "18.4" without a second choke number. Am I correct in assuming this is a Cylinder no choke? The left barrel is "18.5" and "18.3".

Bobby, if you go to the parent website of this forum, doublegunshop.com there is a listing of a variety of makers with serial numbers by date. My understanding is some of them may have been shown to be less that perfect, but in general provide a pretty good guideline. Francotte is one of the makers listed. It's in the "other useful information" section https://www.doublegunshop.com/dgsnos2.htmMy new Francotte dates to 1921

Something else you can do is email Bob Beach at G&H. He's no longer officially maintaining their data base, but he'll usually respond. (Or maybe someone else has picked up where Bob left off.) They have the old VL&D records as well as the later Abercrombie & Fitch records.
