My three, if I won them, are one 3” double, a very good buy on a AYA and a project gun which will take year to finish. I would like them by next Fall but with Covid nothing is going to happen quickly. I lost eleven bids on guns and all my accessories items. But I still did enjoy looking. I remember the AYA you’re talking about. I almost bid on it, I bet you get it.

I am still shocked at the hammer prices, crazy high, even the Spanish guns and project guns. I wonder if this has to do with the Spring auction being cancled?

Covid. Countless people on line looking for things to interest them. I was told by a friend over there he has had others who never seemed interested in Holt's Auctions going over the catalog for something to do. As he said his generation, the younger shooting generation, do not do games as much as the generation behind them. So they are hitting the internet for things to do. He claims the sealed bid part of Holt's is mostly second and third class stuff but with just enough decent things to make it worth a good look. I tend to agree but struggle to know what is a real gem and what is just a flashy stone.
As to prices, I thought there were some real decent buys. There was one hammer gun that I did not win but with shorter sleeved barrels its' appeal to me was limited. Several other guns I bid on I tended to be on the low end of the price range. I even won one like that but missed on many others. There were some interesting guns and accessories but nothing which I was willing to go to the mat over. So bid and win at the right price or just move along.
The problem with sealed bids is a very limited description and no real depth of information about the guns true worth. So you take a flyer. The thing I like about sealed bids is that "bidding fever" is limited to just yourself. You can bid as much as you want but you can not get caught up in it and then run the prices up through the roof. The flip side is the nagging thought that you were the only one bidding on the item and over paid.

Oh duh... if it been a snake I’d been bit. Thanks! Looks like I won several.

My bid must have been the same as someone else's and he was first. Dang.
