Well, if you have an FFL or if you are a resident of another state, you can bring in all you want. But you can't sell it or transfer it once you get it into CA, unless you get an Ammo Vendor License from the CA DOJ. That's another license and another set of fees to pay, and it has to be renewed (for an additional fee) every couple of years or so. And then if you transfer it within the state, you have to do background checks and open all the boxes and all the other bullshit that they put us through. You can't even legally give the ammo away. And to further complicate things, if you are a non-resident, you can't legally buy or receive ammo in CA. So if you came here to hunt, bring lots of ammo because if you run out, you are screwed. Just like the rest of us.

My buddies used to to make fun of me for accumulating a (probable) lifetime supply of shotgun ammo. Now they are laughing out of the other sides of their faces.
