I do not understand how it could either. My best guess is that it pushes the energy(the breachface)further from your face and the stock moves less the further away. I do not understand it, but I do believe it.
BTW I did not get the theory that longer stocks kick less from Batha. I think he gave me a long stock because of my build, the fact that I tend to move my left foot more forward and am kind of a stock crawler.
I did mention that although I like SXSs they tend to kick the shiX out of me. He replied that "They kick the shiX out of everybody.
