It would look much nicer if that extension was blended to match the stock or if Mark was to ink the butt to both match and enhance it. If you need to rebalance the stock a bit of weight can be removed by drilling a hole in the stock or added by putting extra weight into the hole.
Best find in a old gun I have had was a roll of dimes used to weigh a old stock. Found it when I pulled the butt plate off. All silver dimes, mostly 1940-1950s with about a dozen earlier mercury dimes. Neat surprise. Been neater if they were gold coins I guess.
