I'm interested in a gun they have for sale and would appreciate any first hand experience you may have had with them.

Who would be a good person to deal with there?

Thanks for your input

They had a gun that I was interested in...I never talked with anyone that could tell me anything about the gun....felt like I was talking to someone at Walmart.

My experiences with Griffin and Howe have been good. Ask for Paul Chapman.

I bought a total of one gun from them so my experience is limited. But the gun was exactly as described, all my questions were well answered and there were no surprises. The usual ask the right questions and do your homework apply of course.

My gun was the one I wanted to own for over 30 years so the lust was real to me. Funny thing is that once I had the gun and found that I did not shoot it well it lost its' shine. Few years later it went down the road. I did make about 10K profit to soften my lament.

My experiences, all in Bernardsville, over the years have been good. Guns are fairly described and questions honestly answered. Repairs have been particularly well done, including a broken stock that I was certain was beyond repair. Prices are generally reasonable.

I always deal directly with Paul Chapman.

I deal with Paul chapman also. He is there head gunsmith. I have always found him to be a straight shooter that does not under or over state a gun.

I have been a G&H customer for something like 40 years. (I must have started at age 2!) During that time, I have bought guns from them, had gunsmithing done and had guns built. In all my dealings, I hsve never had an unsatisfactory experience. In the cases where there was a problem, it was fixed (e.g. a rifle with a broken firing pin, they told me to have a new one made and bill them. Alternately, I could simply have shipped it back, but this was easier.) Paul is as knowlegable about guns as anyone going and as honest as they come.

Of course, they will be the first to admit they aren't fsst. (Hint, hint, hat agout my 404??????????)

10,75x73 is a good number especially with Woodleigh tipped RWS 22gm Vollmantel load. Right off hand I can't think of better blend of knock down power and relatively low recoil in a bolt gun. I might be wrong because Mr. Zbigniew shot couple of tuskers with 11,60x76 with excellent results. He claims 25% less recoil then .458Lott with better accuracy to boot.
PS. There is this chap slightly older then I named Paul at G&H in NJ. Anybody who is willing to listen my my gun rants for longer then 5min is bound to be gem of a guy and he is. My satisfaction with that outfit is 100%.

Make sure you have a "competent" gunsmith check any gun you buy from G&H. They don't like A.G. which means to me they are sneaky!
