Chuck, My suggestion is to get tested several times until you are well past any window for infection. Do not let testing issues stop you. Your mother in law, wife and self are too important to risk.
My case, to me, was moderate. I am going to live. Doctor seemed less in agreement about how bad it was. Worse my wife, two sons and sister in law are all doctors, so they all have their opinions. My greatest point of luck is to catch this after they have had ten months of clinical learning about what treatments work. I got no magic bullets but I did get excellent care in a timely manner.
Recovery will be a longer haul than I want but I should get there. I was not on a ventilatory but was close to being placed on one twice. Being hard headed helps. I am dealing with the POTS, I think it is just a mild case. Maybe not and I am just trying to pretend so. My most important goal was to get home and not pass this onto any others, especially my wife. That I was lucky in that result. Now I have three months of semi immunity. Big consolation prize to me. I just wish the weights did not seem to be four times regular weight. Never thought a five pound dumb bell would feel like 20 pounds and I don't want to try a 20-25 pound one right now.
