My experience with 4 years of Latin in high school helped me understand the fall of Rome. It almost killed me.
My oldest BIL has a Phd in ancient classics, Roman and Greek. At his graduation at Princeton, the salutatory address was in Latin which is traditional. My wife was in attendance and said that during parts of the address, the audience would laugh at the jokes. Gil
