Unfortunately the listing in the book British Gunmakers vol 2 only shows four digit serial numbers 1730 in 1941 through 2136 in 1974.
I am afraid I maybe of no use on this, as the book does not cover 22323 specifically for Crockart.
It does note that on some G&S Holloway guns made for Crockart they bear an engraved H between the loop and lumps.
Looking at the entries under Holloway & Sons / G & S Holloway show that a serial number of 22323 (your five digit SN fits the Holloway format perfectly), if a Holloway gun serial number would place it in 1941 production. If a Webley Scott # that would put it in 1877 or so
