Non ejector and roughly matted rib surface are two bad signs, indicating a low grade gun. Determining the date of manufacture would be step one. Sling swivels indicate European market. The good signs are double triggers and very high condition. Price is very high for an old AYA 12 gauge. Correction: Crazy high.

likley a 117, not made anymore, was lower than a #2. I think $1500 is tops

Looks like same basic Spanish side lock Pattern that American arms called a Derby. A nice one usually sells around a 1000.00.Granted AYA in pic is finished slightly nicer. If you search same site for a straight week you will find several Spanish ejector gun in great shape and higher grades than that sell for 2k. Good luck.

Sidelock Non Ejector - Model 116 likely Lowest price sidelock in their catalog. Listing for the Model 117 that I see are ejector guns. This model, imported to Scandinavia, was called the Jaguar. I would not consider $1k. Non ejector 12 gauge is not a hot seller. Reference - www.shotguns.se/html/pre_diarm.html

$289.99 would be closer to its value.

Agree it is a model 116, but I'd pay more than $289.99 for it...Geo

$289.99 is down around junk territory. I think this gun would be fair value in the $7-800 range. It is a nice double in lovely condition but being non-ejector hurts it's saleability. Just one old man's opinion. I think the seller's price is insanely inflated.

I did not say it was worth $289.99 !!!I inferred its nearer to that than the $2899.99 being asked!!!

The value of non ejector guns has plummeted. Too many made, too small a market anymore.
A brand new 5 shot auto loader is only $400.00. Steel ready.
A Spanish, non ejector, 12 gauge, is melt material in the UK anymore.
And here, they really are only worth a few hundred dollars, and are not going to go up.
Out there doing it best I can.

Engraving and non-ejector suggests it is a model 116, likely made in the late 1950s, early 1960s. A mid-range gun then, in terms of price point. Much less expensive than the AyA model 1, more expensive than the Model 2. Medium game gun, usually built as a less expensive version of the AyA signature model 53.
Value now? Whatever a seller is willing to pay. Same as any other used shotgun.

While I do agree that prices have fallen substantially, when I see Stevens and Fox model B sell for $3 or $400, this gun is worth twice what they are, any day. It is a good Spanish maker sidelock, not some bottom of the barrel boxlock. I would happily buy such a gun for a few hundred, and smile all the way home.

Agree model 116, a new model 117 back in early seventies In ported to Ohio from Spain for just over 90 bucks plus 20 dollars for FFL and import. The order of 12 guns our group ordered in the seventies had three 117s. All 12 bore. The most expensive Guns we ordered were two #1 , a 53E and a coral o/u. The number 1s were just under or just over $500. Been to many years to remember. I do remember conversations with our grouse hunting group that you could order 5 guns for the price of just one gun.
For today’s pricing between for the fine looking 116. I would say $700-$900.
I wish we could still pick them up for a 100 bucks or so new. Oh the good old days!

Nice gun, high condition, $429.95. Don't try to resell it.
