i was simply trying to point out the difference between a "traditional" two piece rib, common to most english/continental/american doubles, and the one piece central I-beam as frequently used by french makers. it seems to me to be a useful distinction for the purpose of this thread. the post by shotgunlover makes the same observation.

i own three mf guns; a late robust, and two ideals, a late 1930's 16 and the 1928 12 that was in the morphy auction earlier this year. which reminds me - i should post a pm to you.
