"W. Richards" was used by some Belgian makers for low value guns to be exported. Many of which came to the USA farming areas and sold through hardware outlets. Many Americans were likely slightly duped by confusion between W. Richards and Wesley Richards. Wesley never used anything but Wesley Richards. The actual William Richards (likely a cousin of Wesley) worked in Preston and Liverpool. His guns run the gamut of Original Quality grade and have nothing to do with the Belgian W. Richards guns.
