Interesting take on the Baluch gunmakers. Thats sort of like telling them no more projects until they send stuff in to be proofed. So, the sky is falling crowd wants inaction while waiting on traditional clinical trials?
Funny, no one respects Congresswoman Whitsetts opinion on the value of off label use of therapeutics. Weird, she has the proper race, gender and party affiliation. Hypocrisy.

Is it just me or wasn't HDC just fine for the last 70 years or so until Trump recommended it.
I'm sure I'm not the only one when I say I know someone who has a regular prescription for it. Perhaps those naysayers can't tell the difference between an aquarium cleaner and a properly prescribed drug taken in the correct amounts.
And let's see, I've been giving this one a lot of thought over the last 5 weeks as a 61 yo with asthma and COPD. I'll take my chances with an off label prescription of HDC rather than getting put in a coma and hooked up to a respirator. YMMV
The world cries out for such: he is needed & needed badly- the man who can carry a message to Garcia

CB, its you. HDC is just fine for its intended purpose, taken under the advise and observation of a medical professional. It ceases to be fine when its treated like a cure all snake oil from a medicine bowl.
FWIW, I hope you don't find yourself in that position.

James, I think an objective review of what we know now shows that neither HDC or a ventilator are effective treatments for Covid 19. The recent study I saw showed about a 1% less survival rate for those taking HDC than those without it. Conclusive? No, but I think the FDA is giving the best advice they can with the information they have. I do not think they put out that statement just to make Trump look bad.

.....A total and complete mystery Craig.... Great find Steve, so whats the point? Factually, all thats being said is not to use it on high risk patients with certain cardiac complications. I thought you werent one of those fellows that gets more out of the I told you so hyperventilating, than reading what it actually says. Dont all controlled substances have potential side effects and should be used with appropriate cautions? If you take your piece on face value, all its saying is use it in the hospital setting, right? There are only two main considerations here, watch the patient die, or to a lesser extent, balance the need/shortage of hospital beds. Getting shot is potentially deadly, so instead of getting cutesie, we point the gun in a safe direction, right? So what, if better, safer, more effective treatments are developed at a later time, whats your answer, up the body count for politics in the sort term?

No hyperventilating Craig, just a bit of objective thought on the matter. My answer? How about we let science lead the way.
